L. Pearce McCarty III, M.D.
Dr. McCarty graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. After a General Surgery Internship at Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center, he completed his orthopaedic residency at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program. His advanced training includes a Fellowship at prestigious Rush-Presbyterian Orthopaedic Sports Medicine in Chicago.
With extensive training in cartilage restoration in both shoulder and knee. Dr. McCarty's expertise lies in everything from tendon transfers to complex arthroscopic rotator cuf repair and total shoulder replacement. His sports medicine experience includes orthopedic care for the Chicago Bills and White Sox and serving as team physician to many other athletic teams.
Dr. McCarty's research accomplishments are numerous and he is a frequent presenter on wide-ranging topics. Recent professional commitments include serving as the Resident Director of the Harvard Orthopaedic Journal Club. He is the recipient of the Harvard Medical School Resident Teaching Award.
