Board-certified pediatrician Gary Nichols earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed is residency at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also board-certified in sports medicine and has earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine from the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to sports medicine, his special medical interests include pediatric dermatology.
Dr. Nichols sees patients at Partners in Pediatrics in Plymouth, Minn. He is team physician for Edina High School Boy’s Soccer and Armstrong High School Football, and provides medical coverage for Minnesota State High School League tournaments. He serves as medical advisor for the National Ski Patrol at Buck Hill in Burnsville, Minn., and is a patroller with the National Ski Patrol. He is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School’s departments of Family Practice and Community Health, and Pediatrics.
His experience includes serving as an athlete physician at the 2001 World Bobsled Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, as an athlete physician for the luge and skeleton events at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and in providing medical coverage at such events as the USA Soccer Cup tournament and the Twin Cities Marathon.
