Board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Alexander earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2001. Prior to medical school, he earned a bachelor of arts in Biology from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., where he served as a student athletic trainer for three and half years. After medical school, he completed his residency at Smiley’s Clinic in Minneapolis, where he trained in sports medicine with another MSM member, Dr. Steven Stovitz.
After completing his residency training in 2004, he trained under Drs. Rob Johnson and Chuck Anderson in the nationally renowned Hennepin County Medical Center Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Alexander earned his Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine in 2005.
He sees patients at Fairview Hiawatha Clinic in Minneapolis, and at Fairview Sports and Orthopedic Care in Burnsville. Dr. Alexander was recently named to Mpls/St. Paul magazine's 2007 Top Docs. The annual survey randomly samples 2,500 licensed and practicing Minnesota physicians about who they consider to be the best in the industry.
