Board-certified in family medicine, Jennifer Oberstar, M.D., earned her undergraduate degree in Medical Biology from Beloit College and was a NCAA Division III basketball letter winner for four years.
She earned her medical degree at Saba University, Netherlands-Antilles, and completed her family practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis. Following completed HCMC’s sports medicine fellowship under the direction of Robert Johnson, M.D., Dr. Oberstar earned a Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine in 2004.
“My active participation in AAU Junior Olympics basketball in high school afforded me the opportunity to observe many injuries curtailing athletic participation. These experiences and diver safety in the Caribbean lead me to hyperbaric medicine and the prevention of sports injuries.”
Dr. Oberstar sees patients at Camden Physicians in Maple Grove, Minn. She is team physician for Osseo High School and provides coverage at various sporting events that include the Twin Cities Marathon, USA Cup Soccer, and the City of Lakes Loppett, a nordic ski event. She is a member of the National Ski Patrol.
